Today’s thing: My first give-a-way

by knittinginatree

Given the location of Alaska and because I have a lot of regard for Canada and my friends who reside there, today I’ve been celebrating Canada’s National sweater day. And, in doing so I’ve been going through my knitting books…when…all of a sudden…I had the great idea to host a give away. So in celebration of this splendid day I would like to offer a free copy of The Ohio Knitting Mills knitting book by Steven Tatar.

For those who don’t know the story behind this book, Steven Tatar, a sculpture, was scrounging around for scrap metal in the Ohio Knitting Mills factory when he was directed to a complete sample collection of sweaters the mill had produced. From what I understand he was able to purchase the entire archive. The book covers his story in more detail, but essentially it includes 26 vintage inspired patterns celebrating four decades of American Sweater Style from the Ohio Knitting Mills. Just for fun I thought I would give a little sneak peek of the inside. Here are some of the pages I like the most.

Okay, I thought of having you all do something crazy in order to be able to win this awesome book, but since this is my first give away, let’s keep it simple. Just leave a comment below before Sunday February 27th midnight (Alaska time). And, after doing the random number generator, I’ll announce the winner on Monday the 28th.

Good luck! And, again happy national sweater day!
